2. Scope

This policy applies to the mobile app "Schuno" (bundle ID ch.hivenet.schuno) and to this website. It is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP); where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, its requirements apply in addition.

3. Principle: the app collects no data

Schuno gets by without servers of its own. The app contains no analytics tools and no advertising networks and transmits nothing to us. The only data traffic is the synchronisation of your own content via iCloud (see sections 4 and 5) — it takes place exclusively between your devices and your personal iCloud account. No personal data is collected, transmitted or evaluated by us.

Schuno is accordingly declared as "Data Not Collected" in the App Store. In concrete terms this means:

• We learn nothing about whether, when or how you use the app.
• There is no user account and no sign-up; we know neither your name nor your email address.
• No identifiers are used for advertising purposes and no usage profile is built.
• No data is passed on or sold to third parties.

4. Data you enter in the app yourself

In Schuno you record information about your school situation. This data is stored and processed on your device and — if you use iCloud — in your private iCloud:

• Periods: name, start and end date, status
• Subjects: name, weighting, marking as a core subject
• Grades: grade value, factor, exam date and an optional note
• Files that you attach to a grade yourself
• Your chosen display language and a randomly generated, device-internal identifier used to name the local data file

Storage takes place in the app's protected data folder or in your personal iCloud area, which only your devices can access. We have no access to this data, and there are no processors who would handle these contents on our behalf.

On synchronisation: if iCloud Drive is active on your device, Schuno places its data there so that your other devices with the same Apple ID see the same state. This storage happens on your behalf, under your own iCloud contract with Apple; Apple encrypts the data in transfer and in storage. Without iCloud, the data remains on the device only. A device backup you create yourself may additionally include the app's data; that process is between you and your device provider, not us.

5. Attachments to grades

When you attach a file to a grade — including directly as a photo from the camera or from your photo library — Schuno places a copy in its own data folder so that it stays available later on; photos are stored downscaled. Like the rest of your data, these copies are synced between your devices via your private iCloud. When you delete an attachment, they are removed again.

6. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking

Schuno contains no analytics or statistics services, no crash reporting, no advertising networks and no libraries for recognising users. No cookies or comparable technologies are used in the app.

7. Permissions

The app requests system permissions only when you trigger a feature yourself: camera access when you take an exam photo, and photo library access when you attach existing pictures — there you deliberately release individual pictures. Schuno does not access the microphone, location, contacts, calendar or health data. To attach a file, you open your operating system's file picker and deliberately release one single file; Schuno receives no access to your file system beyond that.

8. Getting in touch

In the app settings you can tap "Contact". This opens your email app with our support address as the recipient — the app itself sends nothing and transmits nothing in the background. Only once you send the message do we receive the information you have written, along with your sender address.

We process such enquiries solely in order to answer your request (legal basis: legitimate interest in customer support and pre-contractual communication) and delete them as soon as they have been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations stand in the way. 9. Obtaining the app via the App Store and Google Play

The download and installation of the app are handled by Apple and Google respectively. In doing so, these providers process data such as your store identifier, the download date, your device model and aggregated usage figures under their own responsibility. We have no influence over this.

From the store operators we receive only anonymised, aggregated reports — the number of downloads per country, for example — which allow no conclusions about individual people. Data processing in the store is governed by the privacy terms of Apple and Google respectively.

10. Children and young people

Schuno is aimed at students and apprentices and is rated 4+. Because the app collects no data, keeps no accounts, shows no advertising and contains no social features or communication channels, there are no particular data protection risks for younger users. We deliberately collect no information whatsoever about children — not even their age.

11. This website

This website is a static information page about the app. It sets no cookies, embeds no analytics or advertising services and uses no fonts or scripts from external providers. There is no contact form and no newsletter; contact only comes about if you write an email yourself.

When the page is requested, the usual server access data is processed out of technical necessity, in particular a shortened IP address, the time of the request, the address requested, the volume of data transferred and details of the browser and operating system. This data serves solely to run the site securely and to fend off attacks, and it is not combined with other data.

The site is operated through a hosting provider that handles delivery on the technical side and acts as a processor in doing so. Processing abroad is possible; where it occurs, it takes place on the basis of appropriate safeguards.

12. Retention and deletion

Since we receive no app data, we retain none either. You alone decide how long the data in the app lives:

• You delete individual grades, subjects and periods directly in the app.
• You remove attachments at the grade they belong to.
• When you uninstall the app, the data stored on the device is removed along with the attachments. Data placed in your iCloud you delete in your device's iCloud settings under iCloud Drive.

We delete email enquiries to our support once they have been dealt with. Server access data for this website is deleted automatically after a short time.

13. Your rights

Under Swiss data protection law and, where applicable, under the GDPR, you have the right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority; in Switzerland this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

In practice you need no access request for the data in the app: all contents are fully visible, editable and deletable within the app, because they are held exclusively on your device and in your private iCloud. For matters concerning our email correspondence, please contact the address given above.

14. Data security

The app's data is held in the protected, app-specific storage area of your operating system and is thereby shielded from access by other apps. With iCloud synchronisation enabled, Apple transfers and stores the data in encrypted form. Beyond that, the most effective protection is the device lock and device encryption of your phone. This website is delivered exclusively over encrypted HTTPS.

15. Changes to this policy

We adapt this policy when the app, the website or the legal situation change. The version published here is the one that applies; the date at the top of the page shows how current it is.
